A law enforcement training group distributed a research document that refers to Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists as terrorists.
The International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), an organization based out of Indiana, trains many small and mid-sized police departments across the country, the Associated Press reports.
The document, called “Understanding Antifa and Urban Guerrilla Warfare” contains language that paints the BLM movement as radical militants.
“Antifa and Black Lives Matter have no intentions to negotiate,” the document reads. “These are revolutionary movements whose aims are to overthrow the U.S. government.”
It also claims that BLM is a terrorist group that is “supposedly funded by China and that money is then
donated to the Democratic Party.”
The guide claims that people who took part of protests across the U.S. over the summer were “useful idiots” who were covering for “hard-core, terrorist trained troops.”
It notes that some of those making the observation in the guide served in Iraq and Afghanistan and “have witnessed these types of terrorist groups organizing, creating insurgencies and the horrible consequences of it.
In a comment to The Hill, ILEETA Executive Director Harvey Hedden said, “The paper was the work and opinion of an ILEETA member. It has since been removed and replaced with a new resource.”
Although it is labeled as “restricted to law enforcement,” the document is publicly available on ILEETA’s website.
