Why Some Political Followers Seem Not To Care When They’re Lied To: 5 Reasons

Have you ever wondered why, it seems, so many citizens, who support a specific politician and/ or elected official, continue to loyally follow that individual, regardless of how often, he disappoints them, lies to them, or fails to address and/ or realistically address, their needs, concerns, etc, with viable solutions, and/ or plans? The current American President, Donald J. Trump, who, almost certainly has been the most polarizing politician, in recent times, has consistently lied to the American public, and rather than excusing his behavior, or avoiding future lies, has ended up doubling – down, and proclaiming he is telling the truth. While Mr. Trump has the lowest popularity numbers, and the highest negative numbers, of any President, at this stage of holding office, his polling numbers, among his core followers, has remained mostly steady, and strong. His strongest supporters appear to either, not care, or buy – into, the lies, half – truths, etc, either because they want to, they’ve come to accept Fake News, or they are absorbed with the vitriol, rhetoric, empty promises, or, perhaps, personal agenda and perceived, self – interest. Let’s briefly examine 5 possible reasons for this behavior and mindset.

1. It agrees with what they want: Many individuals prefer to focus on their desire to blame and complain, than to listen to realities and/ or the facts! Wishing for something, and making yourself believe, ends up, with these individuals, wanting to accept lies and distortions!

2. Willing to overlook things, when it serves their personal agenda: An examination, for example, of the President’s core supporters, indicates, he attracts certain types of individuals or groups, more than others. Those sharing his views about, for example, blaming immigrants for lack of jobs and/ or terrorism; blaming certain minorities, as a justification to why they might not be as successful as possible; hoping that certain industries will be reincarnated, although most experts state these industries are not relevant and/ or sustainable, into the future; denying climate change, and blaming it for job loss, etc.

3. Hatred, bigotry, and/ or bias: Perhaps no other politician has ever been able to use vitriol and rhetoric, to inspire potential followers, to support him, because of their inner hatred, bigotry, bias, etc, than our current President. He realizes it’s often easier to blame others, and complain, than to offer realistic, viable solutions, and quality plans!

4. Don’t check: Many voters are somewhat apathetic, and thus, if they hear something often – enough, and it conforms with what they want, don’t bother to check on the truth, and merely are influenced by the rhetoric and claims!

5. Believe the Fake News: While President Trump has been very successful on blaming (and/ or stating) anything or anyone, who disagrees with him, is fake news, and claiming there is a conspiracy against him by the phony media, no one has ever relied more heavily upon, or gotten his so – called facts, from the Fake News! With the primary news source of …

Ideal Basic Features of Student Parliament

Student parliament is an organization, be it political, neutral or simply cultural, it has to be some structure. The agenda of the forum needs to be well maintained and the forum should run on certain impersonal rules and regulations. The basic feature describes its basic nature, its prime moots, and its mission and the organizational structure and details to run these pre-fixed notions in planned and meticulous way.

The feature of student parliament may differ from one association to another however the basic similarities like the process of election, the activity schedule, and the membership criteria remain same regardless of country, community, and nature of the parliament etc.

Students 'parliament is basically a students' organization there before students should have the power of management of the organization with them although it is expected that there should be under some core committee who can monitor the activities and day to day agenda of the said organization with Close details. It is always expected that student should approach an issue to open eyes and with open mind and should be ready to learn the pros and cons of all practical issues in order to understand their social and personal responsibility etc. …

5 Excesses/Wastes Of Government Budgeting

Politicians generally spend most of their time, using empty rhetoric and making promises, they either know they won’t fulfill, or simply not caring about fulfilling them! Unfortunately, the best of intentions, and/ or ideas, unless accompanied with relevant solutions, and enough attention to details, rarely achieves, very much, which makes any changes needed! The issue/ reason is generally, a lack of discipline, thinking outside – the – box, or principled, focused budgeting, etc. Whenever you hear any politician propose something, ask how it will be paid for! In the vast majority of cases, unfortunately, you will be given more double – talk, than responsible answers/ solutions! Let’s review, briefly, 5 areas, where there is significant, governmental, budgetary excess.

1. Padded areas and/ or spending bills: We often witness irresponsible representatives, include unrelated (or barely related) items, within another spending bill. For example, the recently passed legislation (by the House of Representatives), which included added defense spending, also included $1.6 billion, for the first, small segment, of President Trump’s often – trumpeted, much – discussed wall (on the Mexican border). However, why should this be included, when necessary elements, such as environment, ownership issues, legalities, and the true needs, have not been fully determined. Beware, when you’re told this type of spending is only a minor percentage of the overall budget, because, the only way to balance any budget, is one – step (bite) – at – a – time! We often witness totally unrelated, pet projects, included, solely because it might help someone politically, as a sort of payoff, for a positive vote! Wouldn’t you say, that’s padding?

2. Laziness: We nearly always, hear, or witness, budgets prepared, simply, by modifying previous budgets, and then bragging about maintaining a relatively, small budget increase! It should not be about that percentage, but, rather, how the funds are being expended. This is not merely a national issue, because it exists, on the local level, such as school budgets, etc. I have come to believe it’s a combination of laziness, and lack of understanding, because budgets should be prepared, at least on a periodic basis, using zero – based budgeting principles.

3. Pet projects: When representatives permit their votes to be bought, by approving/ including their pet projects, the overall process, is weakened, and there is far more excess and waste, than there should be!

4. How amounts are determined: Examine how these budget figures are determined, and whether, the process is conducted with an open – minded, alternative – oriented, best – methods, approach!

5. It’s only a drop in the bucket!: When we permit representatives to proceed, thinking it’s only a drop in the bucket, minimizing the overall impact, they fail to recognize, those qualified to prepare budgets, realize and understand, budgets are only balanced, when every expenditure is justified!

In my four decades of preparing budgets for organizations and businesses, I have developed the ability, to effectively consider budgetary possibilities, considerations, needs, priorities and considerations. Tell your representatives, you …

Classification of Values

Education is a social process; Education is growth;

Education is not preparation for life; Education is life itself. — John Dewey

The prosperity of a country depends not on the abundance of its revenues, not on the strength of its fortifications, not on the beauty of its public buildings; but it consists in the number of its cultivated citizens, in its men of education, enlightenment and character. —martin Luther.

If wealth is lost nothing is lost.

If health is lost something is lost.

If character is lost everything is lost. —M.K. Gandhi (Father of Indian Nation)

Value is a conception, explicit, distinctive of an individual or characteristic of a group of the desirable which influences the selection from available, means and ends of action.

Organizational Savvy is Part of The Leadership Foundations

In the most basic terms, organizational savvy is emotional intelligence on an organizational level. It is a deep understanding of how individuals, teams, and the organization function – and the ability to react appropriately to those factors. Some leadership foundations can exist independently of each other, but an effective leader must have organizational savvy in order to move the organization forward. Let’s find out how to develop this savvy, and in the process we’ll discover what it actually is.

One of the foremost examples of organizational savvy at work is the ability to develop a give-and-take with others. The basics of this go back to the kindergarten playground, where share and share alike is a daily rule. But this also means that you should expect to give back if someone in the organization helps you out. Along with this goes the understanding of the agendas of others. An agenda isn’t necessarily hidden, but it does involve the motivation and inspiration of another person or team. Is the team moving forward quickly because their annual incentive is based on it, or do they have multiple projects that need attention right away? Is the key person you’re developing a “give and take” with someone that’s driven by personal recognition or the desire to see the entire organization succeed? As you become more emotionally intelligent as a leader, you’ll begin to understand others’ agendas.

As we move into the group dynamic, you must learn to be political. The word politics, even in its own world, sometimes brings up an ugly image, but it doesn’t have to. In organizational politics, you must be able to network, promote yourself when it’s appropriate, and build a base of supporters. Remember when we discussed influence and persuasion? This is where those abilities will come in quite handy. But the chief rule with being political is to not let it get you upset. Sometimes the politics of one person can be dirty, while those of another can be beneficial for all involved. Becoming organizationally savvy involves understanding this element and looking at politics as a fact of life and not necessarily as a good or bad element.

Another great way to move to organizational savvy is to learn how to approach various key people or teams appropriately. When you approach someone, it could be to ask for help, to challenge him or her, or to congratulate on a job well done. But you know that what works for you doesn’t work for the next person. For example, you may be the kind of person that becomes embarrassed if you’re highly praised in public, whereas one of your colleagues may gain energy from praise. Some organizations even use testing methods such as Myers-Briggs (MBTI) to determine personality types and develop communication and interaction plans. You don’t have to go this far, but it’s a good idea to keep track of what styles worked with what people.

Now that you’ve seen the good side of organizational savvy, take a look …

Top Reasons That Made English a Dominant Language

If you can speak English, you will probably be able to communicate with someone in just about any major country you could visit. While not everyone speaks this language, English is truly a dominant language spoken by millions across the globe. Experts state that around a third of the world’s population speaks English as their native language, and many more study it as a second language. What caused English to spread beyond the bounds of the British Isles and become such an important player in global communication? The answer begins with a look at the language’s original speakers, the English.

English Dominance in the 19th Century

In the 19th century the British Empire was truly a global empire. As some said at the time, “the sun never sets on the British Empire.” Great Britain held colonies on every continent, and the trade language in those areas was English. By the end of the 19th century, the British Empire’s reach was global, and the language was also becoming global. This influence continued into the 1900s, and by 1922 the British Empire had an influence over around 458 million people, close to a quarter of the world population of the time, which meant that knowing English was important.

The Rise of America as a Global Power

Even though it is a relatively young country in light of world history, the United States has become a global superpower, specifically after World War II. America has a hand in politics, economics, and culture around the world. As such, English is becoming more and more important as a global language. When you add the influence of America in today’s global economy to the historic and current influence of Great Britain, understanding English becomes almost essential to carrying out business in the current economic market.

English Is the Language of Technology and Science

As you browse the World Wide Web, you will find that most websites are in English or have an English translation available. This shows how influential English is in the world of technology. Since many of the technological devices created across the globe are marketed heavily in America, they are designed with English-speaking users in mind. You can see this in the design of the computer keyboard. Most standard keyboards contain the standard letters of the English alphabet, which is further proof that English is the language of technology.

In addition, English is the language of science. The Science Citation Index reports that over 95 percent of all of its documents are English documents, even though a majority of them are writing by non-native English speakers. The medical community also uses English as a unifying language, making it essential for doctors to learn if they wish to be able to read reports and journals about the latest medical breakthroughs.

English is the Language of International Organizations

When multiple countries come together, they must choose a language to speak. Often the language chosen is English. The official language of the United Nations, for instance, …

Zambian Cultural Heritage – The Tonga People – Their Traditions and Customs

The Tonga people of Zambia live in Zambia’s Southern Province. They are an agricultural tribe and herding cattle and crop growing are the two most important aspects of their traditional economy. They have a deep connection to their cattle and land reflecting an ancient spiritual harmony with nature.

The Tonga are considered to be original Zambian inhabitants – sites dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries have been found on the Batoka Plateau as well as ancient village sites near Kalomo and Choma. The oldest site can be found on Sebanzi Hill on Lochinvar Ranch which is on the edge of the Kafue Flats.

Zambian history suggests that 600 years ago a thriving trade centre existed in the Zambezi valley. A site christened Ingombe Ilede was unearthed by Archaeologists and it showed that people lived here and traded with the Arabs, Chinese and India. Copper crosses of about 30cm in length have been found to have been the main currency unit.

The word ‘Tonga’ means ‘independent’ and it confirms the theory that originally the Tonga people did not have a centralised political structure but lived in independent family units. Traditionally chieftainship was not part of the Tonga tradition. Rather, priests and rainmakers were seen to be more important leaders. It was only when the colonial administration was creating its leadership structure that chiefs were assigned to the Tonga people. As a result of the changes brought on by the colonial administration, chieftaincy is now an integral part of Tonga politics.

Rather confusingly, there is reference to a Chief Monze long before the British came to Zambia. Chief Monze was not a Chief as we would know it but a priest, prophet, rainmaker and mediator. The current Chief Monze who is a spiritual and cultural leader who commands significant respect from a extensive community descends from a long lineage dating back from the 17th century when according to traditional tails the first Chief Monze descended from heaven.

The Lwiindi Gonde Ceremony is the main Tonga ceremony and is held in the South West of Monze town on the last Sunday of June. It is a traditional ceremony filled with music, lively dance and prayer. ‘Gonde’ means thick bush and this is the place where the shrines of the Tonga people are. It is the place where the first ever Chief Monze vanished – tradition says that he did not die. Gonde became the burial place for all chiefs although only two are actually buried there. (A detailed article has been written on The Lwiindi Gonde Ceremony and it is entitled Zambian Cultural Heritage – The Lwiindi Gonde Traditional Ceremony).

The Apprentice President

In years past the world looked to the United States for true leadership in times of crisis. Unfortunately, ever since Donald Trump took office he has managed to obliterate any progress past Administrations have made in securing Americas place as the one nation that embodies the willingness to come to the rescue in troubled times. The internal conflicts created by Trump himself has only accelerated Americas surrendering of our leadership role in international affairs.

We also have to point out that the sporadic ramblings of many of his addresses has only confirmed what many have already concluded. The leader of the free world is as many point out a bonafide paranoid schizophrenic. What is more disturbing is that the Republican led Congress has done nothing to stop the insanity from inside the White House. Meanwhile, like that old Roman saying about Nero, while Trump keeps having delusions of grandeur and reiterates self embellishment the United States is steadily losing the respect that other nations had for America.

It never ceases to amaze that foreigner after foreigner have not only grown disillusioned about America’s ability to come to the aid of other nations in times of acute crisis but are scared to death that Trump would do something so irrational that it would jeopardize the stability of the whole world. It doesn’t only seem that everyday there is another crisis within the Trump Administration but the truth is Trumps behavior only guarantees another crisis and like in the Apprentice ” Your fired” is said all too often.

The one consistent behavior pattern that has been in the forefront of Trumps mind frame is his overwhelming thirst for wealth. This obsession by the Trumps is quite evident when he is using the position of the Presidency to further the Trumps fortune. In one instance by doing whatever it takes to keep the reign of fossil fuels from falling victim to the rising surge of the green energy movement. He is very adept at sabotaging any effort to curb carbon emissions all the while promoting the global consumption of US oil, coal and natural gas.

In this respect the President through is belligerent style and his ruthless desire to promote the Trumps brand of authoritarianism is endangering the whole planet. At the recent G-20 summit 19 leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the Paris Accord. But, what Trump has done by turning his back on the Paris Accord and promoting oil, coal, and natural gas here at home and abroad what ever impact there is in negating carbon emissions by other countries the results will only have carbon emissions continue to rise. In effect the President has only made global conditions that much worse.

Ever since Trump came into the White House every major large bank has reaped huge dividends. There is no question that Trump has had a hand in increasing the profitability of major banks like Chase, Bank America and other too big to fail banks. And to think that Trump is …

The Law Of Attraction In Action – The Path of Desperation Vs Letting Go To Achieve Your Life Goals

We’ve all had those times in life where we wanted something so badly, that we could taste it, feel it, or hear it. You know what I’m talking about. It could be the girl of your dreams, the car of your dreams or just that dream job you’ve always wanted. One thing is for sure, we all have been there.

When it comes to wanting things really badly, the word that comes to my head is ‘desperation’.

From my experience, nothing drives a goal further away from you as desperation.

It’s kind of funny though that some schools of thoughts equate being desperate about a goal, or wanting it so badly, is showing the universe or God how serious you are about that goal or objective.

Oh really?

I personally think not. It is my experience that wanting something so badly, or being desperate about it only leads to one making the wrong decisions. You aren’t making decisions from the flow, or from joy or gratitude. No Way! When you are in a state of desperation, you are almost on the verge of feeling hopeless, or giving up completely (in a negative sense).

Here’s my friend’s account of his experiences after leaving university and in desperate need of money and support, and how he overcomes the challenges using the power of letting go:

” I was so desperate for money once, I almost got myself into a money laundering ring. The circumstances were interesting as I look back in retrospect. It’s almost as if some force was driving me to make the wrong decisions through financial desperation. Let me go further into details.

My girlfriend of four years at the time had broken up with me, saying that she needed ‘space’ at first, giving no obvious reason. When I look back, that was meant to protect me from the fact that she had met someone else who suited her material needs at the time. Note that we were both university students at the time.

So one month turned into three months, and then she begun to drop tidbits about the fact that she had started dating again, by hinting to me that I should start seeing other people. I told her no worries, as I’m in the process of seeking employment, so I’ll put that on the back burner.

I was a fairly decent lad at the time, not worrying much about money, and material things. My main concerns were keeping my mind, body and spirit active and positively engaged in beneficial pursuits.

What turned me to the ‘dark side’ was the call I received that fateful day from my then girlfriend who only wanted ‘space’. She called me explaining that she’ll be sending me some pictures of here with a new hairdo. I was like cool, because she knew I liked her haircuts short. So she sent me the pictures via email, and I saw her in this car; it was a really sexy drop top beetle. I thought …
